ÖRÖKLÉT – cinematic art pop concert with lyrics by János Lackfi

A thought-provoking concert by the hybrid chamber-symphonic ensemble Fugato Orchestra at the Turbina, for life-giving mortals!
The last few years have given us plenty of cause for anxiety. Almost daily, Death asks us to dance. But it’s up to us how much we let it crawl under our skin and take the simple pleasures of life away from us!
In a concert based on the lyrics of János Lackfi, film composer Balázs Alpár will explore the main questions of mortality with the Fugato Orchestra. The hybrid electronic and symphonic sounds accompanying the singers evoke otherworldly atmospheres and lead us through thoughts of mourning, circulation and eternity. The theme of the performance is based in part on the book “Facing the Day” by world-renowned psychologist Irvin D. Yalom.

Music by Balázs Alpár, Fugato Orchestra
The Fugato Orchestra –
Artistic and light, traditional and innovative, meaningful and emotional… The leader of the chamber symphony ensemble, Balázs Alpár, a film composer, combines the essential energies of different genres in his hybrid music.
The 20-year old, three-time Fringe Audience Award-winning orchestra is a regular performer at Hungarian festivals and concert venues, including Müpa Budapest and the Városmajori Open-Air Stage. Several of their shows have been successfully presented abroad. In the past they have worked with Kátya Tompos, Tibor Tátrai, Veronika Harcsa, Ági Herczku and Nikola Parov.
The sound of the 13-piece Fugato Orchestra is characterised by the unification of seemingly irreconcilable opposites, the meeting of styles and cultures, and the poetry of János Lackfi, with whom they have been collaborating for many years. Their recently released album “Hybrid Songs” is based on Lackfi’s lyrics written especially for the Fugato Orchestra.
