It’s hard to write poetry about freedom—it rarely succeeds. It’s difficult to decide what misleads us more: the vivid power of our talent or the fact that we have no real idea about the subject of our poem.
So instead, we will sing two dozen songs written by Tamás Cseh to the lyrics of Géza Bereményi and Dénes Csengey—songs that everyone around here understands, loves, and hums. Meanwhile, we’ll have a drink or two (as everyone around here does) and simply enjoy ourselves (as everyone around here does). And the Melody of Freedom—well, we’ll hum along…
