BIFF Hub โ€“ Professional discussions

The BIFF Hub is the festivalโ€™s professional programme, which offers a behind-the-scenes look at filmmaking at the Turbina during the festival, with renowned filmmakers and film professionals.
Discussions on the technical and creative processes of filmmaking, the principles of film selection and the relationship between social responsibility and art will be held in a live and interactive format.
The events are free to attend!

Mรกtรฉ Ternyik, who has previously worked with the cinematographer of The Pianist, has now created the visuals for The Brutalist, which premieres at this yearโ€™s Venice Film Festival, alongside Lol Crawley. Mรกtรฉ was deeply involved in the development of the filmโ€™s visuals from the very beginning of the shoot, and later on he shaped them as the filmโ€™s colourist. Zรกgon Nagy talks to him about his experiences, the colourist-cinematographer relationship and his role as a filmmaker.

A discussion with Anna Babos and Simon Petri-Lukรกcs (Partizรกn Filmklub) and Pete Donรกth and Dani Rรฉv (Cinema Niche, BIFF) about the principles behind a selection and what it means to watch films based on a concept.

How can we help our fellow human beings in difficult situations around us? A discussion about the film about vulnerability, pride, helping, fates, stories. The film tells the story of Souleymane, a Guinean refugee who works as a bicycle food delivery driver in Paris, and his two days on the road to his fateful hearing to decide whether to apply for a resettlement permit.
