Acca Horváth: The game of unspeakable joy

The popular board game of our childhood paints a realistic picture of our life’s journey of the current stages of our careers. We juxtapose the often never-ending board game with reality, not in reality. The rules of the game are based on events that have taken place, in whole or in part. The performance presents the difficulties of freelancing through the real life events of two performers. The significant achievements and failures of the years since graduation are presented with unvarnished honesty and self-deprecation. A game of unspeakable hilarity based on a board game situation with a range of movement on the board game field. And we, the performers, play as puppets to be the first to arrive at the to the final field of the art of dance. The game is based on a set of rules, developed from our experiences as dancers, where we can move forward with different qualities of movement from field to field, but also backwards and forwards. The players are individual entrepreneurs, instructed throughout by their own voices. We don’t know what the outcome will be, but we know the possibilities.
