🎉 IT’S OUR BIRTHDAY! 🎉
Come and celebrate with us! 🥳

For two years now, we’ve been queering the dance floors of Budapest. For this special occasion, we are inviting a truly special guest: Rumi de Baires! 🎂💝

ABOUT RUMI

Born in Buenos Aires (ARG) to Cape Verdean families, Rumi’s DJ sets reflect the richness of musical influences that have shaped him since an early age – jazz, Brazilian, and African music were omnipresent during his childhood.

In the early 2000s, inspired by the likes of Masters At Work and Kerri Chandler, Rumi began DJing while studying and living in Florida. Many years of academic work and relocations later, his career took a serious turn after moving to Vienna in 2016.

Initially immersed in the local ballroom scene, Rumi soon found his community of house music enthusiasts. This led to the inception of „A Party Called Jack” – a collective and revered dance event in Vienna that celebrates house music and its roots in funk, soul, and disco.

In 2021, he co-founded GAZE, a platform dedicated to amplifying the „queer gaze” within electronic music, visual arts, live performances, and fashion. Since then, GAZE has become a cornerstone of Vienna’s LGBTQI+ community, collaborating with numerous international DJs and festivals.

Although Rumi finds his musical home in house, his versatility shines through in the way he seamlessly moves between disco, breaks, and techno. His DJ sets are infused with jazz nuances, soulful vocals, and Afro-Latin rhythms, echoing the sounds of his childhood.

His musical diversity is also documented in his radio show „GEMS”, featuring contributions on RES Radio (Vienna) and Refuge Worldwide (Berlin).

DIRTY CASH – WHO WE ARE?

Equality is key. We create a truly queer club environment where like-minded individuals can express themselves freely and explore their identities without fear of judgment.

Our events bridge the gap between the inherently queer origins of club music and today’s finest house, disco, deep, hard-groove, techno, and hard-house tunes. Dirty Cash guarantees an unforgettable night for all chicks, freaks, weirdos, and queerdos.
