120 BPM – Rhythm of Budapest

07.05.2025 Wednesday20:00Clubroom

🎭 What comes to mind when you think of Budapest?
The party district where British tourists mix with young (and not-so-young) locals? A Turkish gyros bought from a Greek shop? The ever-moving, pulsing streets soaked in real history, crumbling facades, and grand old squares? Those blurry-eyed mornings sobering up at the Blaha McDonald’s? A place that feels like home?
Or perhaps… a love?

🗺️ What is my relationship with Budapest?
This is the question posed by the members of HelySzínelők, an amateur theatre collective. Through this performance, they aim to share their personal connections to the city, hoping to inspire the audience to ask the same question and begin a collective reflection on Budapest — a shared journey toward understanding ourselves and the capital we live in.

The show features elements of community theatre, though it’s not strictly categorized as such. The fourth wall is sometimes upheld, sometimes broken completely. Audience members may also be invited to take part in the ongoing dialogue and express their own reflections on Budapest.

🎭 Performed by:
Márk Ivánkai, Eszter Zsófia Lanczki, Patrícia Lipi, Roxána Mátrai, Álmos Plesznivy, Károly Plesznivy, Veronika Thernesz, Luca Tréfás

🕐 The performance runs approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, followed by a laid-back discussion over spritzers.
