Sena Dagadub

Sena Dub shows the meditative, spiritual face of the singer. Jamaican dub, jazz flute and Sena’s smoky voice create a truly unique atmosphere. She is in no hurry, at once varied but repetitive, showing us that it’s worth slowing down sometimes and looking around in this endlessly accelerated world. He tries to break away from the three-minute song pattern and let go of the music that we tend to keep locked up in a golden cage these days.

Exactly 20 years ago in 2002, Sena Dagadu wandered into a hip-hop club in Buda and, at the urging of a friend, grabbed a free microphone. It was a defining moment in the history of Hungarian popular music, as the Ghanaian-Hungarian singer has remained on the microphone ever since and has become an inescapable figure in Hungarian pop culture.
Although she can easily wrap her audience around her finger with light-hearted hits, the challenge for her is to perform something deeper, more meditative and more attention-grabbing. That’s why she has formed her new group, Sena Dagadub.
Sena Dagadu – vocals
Márton Live – keyboard, electronics
Ákos Pásztor – flute
